Other Fun Pictures...

I have some other pictures that are fun, but don't necessarily belong with any specific trip. Here are some.

Valentine's Day 2008

On Valentine's Day we went ice skating again! We have a good time at the ice skating rink, but we never stay more than 45 minutes, lol. I don't think we fell even one time (not totally sure).

Sea Life February 2008

After Barry came home in February we wanted to do something interesting. We found out about this aquarium in Oberhausen, Germany. The website was a little deceiving. It was nice, but not near as nice as it could have been.

There were some really neat displays of fish and we especially enjoyed the sting-rays. It really seemed like they were looking right at you and then waving and making noise if you ignored it.

Eifel Park October 2007

Eifel Park is a nice little park in between Bitburg and Spangdahlem. We had seen the sign for it everytime we went back and forth between the bases. I finally looked it up online and saw that it sounded fun. It has lots of animals as well as some fun rides. They have this fun roller coaster that is kind of like a go-kart on a track that goes downhill. You are the only person that keeps it from going full speed. It was really fun.

Cologne Zoo July 2007

I love the zoo! I will go to pretty much any zoo that I can. We had tried to go to the Hard Rock Cafe in Cologne before, but never found it. So, with GPS in hand, we decided to try again. The zoo was a lot of a fun.

After the zoo, we finally found the Hard Rock Cafe in Cologne! We came out of the parking garage right under the Dom Cathedral. WOW! What a place. It is absolutely beautiful! I had left my camera in the car and missed out on a major photo opportunity. I plan to go back and see it again before we leave here. But anyway, I happened to see a tourist center and asked them where the Hard Rock was. Finally, we were close! It was right down the street.

Local German Vineyards July 2007

We went in search of the local vineyards. There are so many. It is hard not to see them all over the area. You can find some of the best vineyards along the Mosel River.

My Spring Flowers 2007

For the first time, I decided that I wanted to plant some flowers on out balcony. I have never been really great at growing things, but I wanted to give it a try. Some were already grown and others were just seeds.

The old bookshelf that my dad built when I was little was falling apart, so Barry made it into a planter for me. I hated taking it apart, and I certainly didn't want to just throw it away, so using it to plant my flowers was just the right thing.

Here are some of my favorites.
